The lost art of sustainable systems

One aim of ISSS-2016, aside from bringing East and West together, was to integrate academics and art. We lost an opportunity at the Banquet when our program ran late. We were forced by time and circumstances to end before a special performance of local artists, invited by Mila Popovich. Their performances were especially relevant to systemic sustainability of Man and Nature.

The upshot of this loss has been to galvanize interest around re-creating the lost performances for filming at another venue, perhaps even expanding them, to incorporate into a film made otherwise from the conference talk videos so graciously collected by Tim Skurdahl of National Conference Recording Service, and Vignan University.

We can thus include the lost performances in a feature-length documentary of ISSS-2016, enhancing the experience of both the USA conference at Boulder and the India conference at Vadlamudi.

Please contact us if you would like to help with this new project to produce a feature length film based on ISSS-2016, connecting East and West, and Art and Academics.

We give great thanks to Mila Popovich, David Hinojosa, Michael Annis, Maestro Rene Heredia, Bobby LeFebre, Theo E.J. Wilson. Thanks also to the “trio” –  Dr. Bill Morse, Randy Ferrar and Peggy Lion, who did perform at the conference closing for a marvelous, spell-binding hour of inspiring and beautiful music from Tango to Bach.
